Strum/Pick side - Practice alternate picking, arpeggios, strums, tremolo, and other challenging patterns.  Concentrate on relaxing your hands and smoothing technique.  Rhythmically practice triplets, sixteenth notes, etc. while switching strings.

Maintenance:

  • String tension can be maintained by adjusting the tuning pins with a tuning wrench, a crescent wrench, or a pin key (a pin key is included free with each LeTechnique ordered).
  • Keep excess string cut close to the pin.
  • Adjust strings to the approximate tension of their full-size instrument.
  • When stringing LeTechnique, configure the strings for right or left-hand use.

Fretboard side - Simulate difficult chords, scales, pulls, hammers, and short slides.  Hold bar chords -- build endurance.

LeTechnique can be looped into a belt or secured to a chair arm.  Attachability frees up your other hand.

  • Keep LeTechnique where you don't normally have your guitar -- at your desk, in the car, at school, near the sofa.
  • Focus on feeling the strings and the fretboard, encouraging muscular memorization and conditioning.
  • Pay attention to one hand at a time, relaxing while fingering.
  • It takes discipline to practice regularly.  LeTechnique can help you take advantage of the time you spend away from your instrument -- and further your musical study.
